Two Young Republicans Announce Bid for Office

The Nassau County Young Republicans are pleased to announce that Lee Tu and Jon Wicks have announced their candidacies for elected office in the upcoming November election.  Lee Tu has been nominated to run for North Hempstead Town Supervisor while Jon Wicks will be will be running for Town of North Hempstead Town Clerk.

“The Young Republicans are excited to see two of our members running for office,” said Nassau YR President Simon Spero.  “More importantly, it is exciting to see young people taking an active and positive role in government and in their local communities.” 

Nassau YR Executive Vice President Kathleen Hunker echoed similar sentiments, stating, “Tu’s and Wicks’s nominations reflect the Nassau County Republican Party’s eagerness to embrace the new ideas and perspectives of the county’s younger generation.  Both nominees should provide a fresh outlook for the county’s Republican Party.”

The Nassau County Young Republicans are gearing up to campaign for both Wicks and Tu.  “The Nassau YRs will put our full effort behind both Tu and Wicks during this season,” said Nassau YR First Vice President of Campaigns Lisa Giunta.  “Having two Young Republican members running this year will further mobilize and invigorate the Republican Party’s already eager young campaigners.  It should be an exciting season.”

The Nassau County Young Republicans is a social organization open to all Republicans ages 14 to 40. If you are over the age of 18, you must be enrolled as a Republican in order to join.
